Jambix Plug-ins & Extensions

Import-Export

This plug-in allows users to export data, for example prices, to a pre-formatted Excel-sheet. After editing these data the sheet can be imported into the system. Depending on what was edited, either existing data will be updated, or new data will be added. This procedure speeds up this kind of jobs.
Though this is a plug-in, it is free.

MYOB

MYOB is an Australian bookkeeping system, also used in Southeast Asia. This plugin allows settings in Jambix that are special to MYOB, and to export data that can be imported in MYOB.

The Text Library

The Text Library allows you to store and organise frequently used texts in Jambix, so that they become available to users in your administration. Important features and advantages:

  • They are centrally located, so that all users (having the proper permissions) can and will use the same texts.
  • The original texts can be edited by a limited number of editors.
  • The standardised texts can be used in documents that you send to clients.
  • They can be organised in folders and subfolders, for easy access.
  • They can be accessed and used from anywhere in the world.
  • If you have access to the Image Manager, your company can produce high quality illustrated output, based on standardised input.
  • Different templates can be used to format the Page Setup of your output.
  • Unlike other functionalities in Jambix, your administration can use its own stylesheet in the Text Library and Documents. The stylesheet sets the standard formatting of text and images, like the font family, the font size, the borders around images, the margins around images, etc. The stylesheet can be adjusted to the style of the company.
  • Since back-ups are made on a regular basis the texts and documents are stored in a secure place.

  • The Image Manager

Standard in Jambix is the possibillity to upload images of (for example) suppliers and products. The Image Manager adds more freedom, as it allows you to upload and manage any images on the Jambix server, so that they become available to users in your administration. Some of the advantages:

  • They can be placed in text written with the Text Library.
  • They are centrally located, so that all users (having the proper permissions) can and will use the same images.
  • They can be used in documents that you create to send to your clients or use in your company.
  • They can be organised in folders and subfolders, for easy access.
  • They can be accessed, used and even downloaded from anywhere in the world.
  • Since back-ups are made on a regular basis they are stored in a secure place.

  • Web Interface

Data can be exported from Jambix to an intermediary database, where it can be accessed by an external system (e.g. the content management system of a website or an agent's system).
Exports can be done manually and/or automated with a schedule.
This plug-in is also used for the B2B/Extranet and B2C/Booking Engine functionalities.

    Amadeus GDS

    Amadeus GDS

Amadeus is a well known GDS used by many companies in the tourism business.
Using this plug-in, flight data that were exported to AIR records, can be imported into Jambix, linked to their respective bookings and then used in various types of output.

    Why use plug-ins?

There are two major reasons to use a system with plug-ins, like Jambix has.
    1. Ease of use. The system has lots of built-in functionalities, that generally can be used by different companies with different work procedures. However, adding functions that do not apply to a company, will clutter up the interface and may confuse users.
    2. Costs. Developing and maintaining functionalities takes time and money. By using plug-ins to extend the system with particular functions, we can keep the costs down for the system, and charge only the users that use and profit from those functions.

    Account Bridge

Normally, accounts are strictly separated in Jambix and it is impossible to see any kind of data of other accounts. The AccountBridge Plug-in allows you to create links with bookings that are handled by others.
Sometimes travellers will visit more than one country and in each country a part of the tour is handled by a different operator. Using the AccountBridge, it is possible for operators to view (not edit) those parts of the tour that are handled by other operators. This allows all operators to check whether the tour connects correctly at bordercrossings, to answer questions by travellers that concern all parts of the tour, etc.

    App

This plug-in allows to manage & export selections of company, client and booking information. This can then be viewed on mobile devices.
